Introducing Our First Drop: A New Way to Experience Koda Moss šŸŒæ

Over the past five years, Koda Moss has grown into something Iā€™m so proud of. The demand for premium moss has skyrocketed, and Iā€™m truly grateful for the support from this amazing community. Today, Iā€™m excited to share something new with you: the drop model.

Why a Drop Model?

Foraging moss isnā€™t just about collecting as much as I can. Itā€™s about respecting nature and carefully rehoming these little bryophytes. Iā€™ve always been committed to sustainable practices, like using bio-packaging and making sure I leave enough moss behind to regenerate and sustain the ecosystem.

As demand for moss grows, itā€™s important to keep that balance. The drop model allows me to do just that.

Hereā€™s how this new approach helps:

  • I can offer thoughtfully curated collections, including staples like fern and feather moss as well as unique finds from my foraging trips.
  • Kodaā€™s Green Room members get exclusive early access and discounts before the collection goes public.
  • This system keeps things sustainable by limiting how much I forage and giving me time to make more content and grow the business between forages.

Whatā€™s in the first drop?

This collection, Dry Trails and Hidden Treasures, is inspired by the challenges of summer foraging. Itā€™s a mix of old favourites and unique one-of-a-kind finds. Each piece has been foraged with care and features a variety of moss species along with moss-covered bark and wood that tell a story of the forest.

Green Room members get first access to shop the collection before it opens to the public. Once itā€™s sold out, itā€™s gone!

How the Drop Model Works

  • VIP Early Access
Members of Kodaā€™s Green Room get a private link to shop the collection three days before the public release.

  • Public Release
After three days, any remaining stock will be available on the website for everyone.

  • Sustainable Practices
Each collection is kept small to make sure the moss can thrive in its new home while leaving plenty behind in the forest to regenerate.

If youā€™re not sure how much moss to use, my advice is simple. Less is more. Create space in your terrariums for plants to breathe, and only buy what you need to avoid waste. Iā€™m not here to see moss end up in landfill.

Looking Ahead

This new drop model is just the beginning. While Koda Moss started with wild foraged moss, Iā€™m excited to explore cultivated moss in the future. Itā€™s a way to make live moss more accessible while reducing pressure on natural ecosystems.

Iā€™ve also launched a moss hire service for events and photoshoots. This lets people enjoy moss without the waste. Use it, return it, and Iā€™ll rehome it at a discount for someone who can keep it alive. Message meĀ for inquiries.
