Every year as summer rolls in, things start to get busy around here. From November through April, demand for moss goes through the roof. Florists, terrarium makers, event stylists, landscapers — everyone suddenly needs it at the same time.
The tricky part is that most moss suppliers go quiet over summer. The heat makes foraging tough and a lot of the wholesale supply just stops. But at Koda Moss, we keep going.
We’re still out there in the pine forests and fern gullies around Victoria, collecting what we can and keeping it as fresh as possible. It’s hot, it’s hard work, but it’s worth it when we see everyone’s projects come to life.
Every year our inbox fills up with messages from people who can’t find moss anywhere else. So if you’re planning to build terrariums, do floral work, or need moss for a creative job, it’s a good idea to order early. We’ll do our best to keep stock flowing, but it’s always a balancing act with nature.
