What It Is
Preserved flat moss, the workhorse ground layer. Where reindeer moss gives you cloud and cushion, flat moss gives you lawn: low, even and quietly convincing. It is the fastest way to make a base read as forest floor, whether that floor belongs to a terrarium, a Christmas village or a Halloween graveyard.

Note: Preserved moss is real moss, stabilised so it holds its colour and softness without water or light. Keep it dry, indoors and out of direct sun. It suits open, dry builds. An open terrarium with sand and a plant that runs dry is ideal, but a sealed humid build that stays wet will spoil it. A little natural colour transfer can occur on handling, so keep it off pale fabrics and surfaces.
