Things are changing a little at Koda Moss, and we wanted to keep you in the loop.
For years, we’ve offered 20×30 fern and feather moss layers directly to the public. They’ve been a favourite for big builds and creative projects, but the truth is that most people don’t actually need that much moss. Over time, it’s become clear that these large sheets are really a bulk/wholesale quantity, not an everyday retail product.
The other part of the story is sustainability — not environmental, but business sustainability. Up until now, every single 20×30 layer has been packed to order. That means when an order comes through, we grab loose moss, weigh it, trim it, clean it, bag it, label it, and then pack it for shipping. Nothing has ever been pre-packed.
It’s taken a huge amount of time, hands-on energy and overheads. After a few years of doing this at scale, it’s reached the point where it’s simply not sustainable for us to continue offering these large layers as a standard retail item.
So we’re making a shift.
From now on, 20×30 moss layers will only be available to approved wholesale clients. If you’re a business and need moss in bulk, we’re still here for you — you can apply for access using this form:

For everyone else, we’re moving to pre-packed punnets, which offer plenty of moss for most builds and keep things simple, clean and cost-effective. Pre-packed stock means:
-
less handling
-
more consistency
-
faster dispatch
-
better value
-
and a more sustainable workflow behind the scenes
We’re still testing the best way to pack, store and ship the new punnets. Moss behaves differently depending on the season, the batch, the moisture levels… so we’re experimenting in the background to get this right. While we refine everything, we genuinely appreciate your patience.
As always, feedback is welcome! It helps shape the experience we’re trying to build from end to end. If you’ve got thoughts, ideas, or suggestions, our inbox is always open.
Thanks for being here and for growing alongside us.
💚
